Uwe Seeler, one of the most consistent and best forwards in the world in the 1950s and 60s, spent his entire career at his birthtown club Hamburger SV. He made his international debut already as a 17 year old in October 1954 against France just a few months after West Germany won the World Cup in Switzerland. Uwe played in four World Cups - unfortunately for him the four tournaments held between West Germany's title winning years 1954 and 1974. He captained West Germany at Wembley in the final of 1966 when England won after extra time. It was the closest Seeler ever came to winning the World Cup.
